Friends, parties & settings
Friends, parties, and settings. How they work in-game.
Friends
Your friends list works across Vanilla Practice regions. If someone is online on NA East while you are on EU, they still show up as online with their region tag.
Open the menu
Run /friend, /friends, or /f. That opens the friends GUI. Online friends are listed first.
Add someone
Click Add a Friend, type their name in the prompt, and confirm. Or run /friend add <name>.
They get a request. If they do not answer right away, it stays pending for a while.
Accept or deny requests
Click Friend Requests in the menu, or run /friend requests.
Left-click a request to accept. Right-click to deny. You can also use /friend accept <name> or /friend deny <name>.
Read a friend's status
Hover a friend head in the list. Online friends show:
- Presence (Online or Do Not Disturb)
- What they are doing (duel, practice, spawn, exploring)
- Which region they are on, plus ping
Offline friends show how long ago they were last seen. Right-click any head to remove them.
Friends in TAB
Online friends also appear in a Friends section of the tab list, with real skins, so you can glance who is around without opening the menu.
Join alerts
Run /friend notify to toggle alerts when friends join or leave. You can also flip this in Settings.
Settings
Open /settings, or go Friends → Settings. The menu has three pages.
Privacy
- Who can send you TPA: Everyone, Friends only, or Nobody
- Who can message you: Everyone, Friends only, or Nobody
- Player visibility at spawn (same idea as /vdhide)
Display
- Actionbar on or off
- Scoreboard on or off
- Announcement sounds
- Join and leave messages in chat
Account
- Presence: Online, Do Not Disturb, Appear Offline
- Preferred spawn
- Friend join alerts
- Fast crystals (when available)
Appear Offline makes you look offline to other players in Friends and TAB. Your character stays visible in the world. If you also hide players at spawn, that hide toggle still works as usual.
Chat shortcuts: /friend tpa <everyone|friends|none> and /friend msg <everyone|friends|none>.
Parties
Create or open your party
At spawn, use the party item on your hotbar. That opens the party menu. You can also invite with /party invite <player>. They join with /party join <leader>.
If you are the leader: Manage Party
The leader menu gives you everything in one place:
- Party FFA - everyone in the party fights each other. Pick a mode, then start when you have at least two members online.
- Team Battle - split your party into Red vs Blue. Click heads to move people between sides, use Shuffle if you want a random split, then Start. Everyone in the party has to be online.
- Invite Friends - pick from your friends list, or still use
/party invite <name>. - Party Members - see the roster and kick if needed.
- Advertise Party - (permission) sends a server-wide recruiting message with a clickable join link. This has a cooldown.
- Disband - ends the party for everyone.
Party chat
/pc or /party chat toggles party-only chat so your messages stay in the party.
/pc <message> sends one party message without toggling the mode.
Party TAB at spawn
While you are in a party at spawn, TAB focuses on your party so it is easy to see who is with you.
Press sneak (shift) at spawn to toggle back to the normal full player list when you want it.
Leaving
Members use /party leave. Leaders can disband from the menu or with /party disband.
Lobby polish
The hide-players dye and Settings visibility toggle still clear the lobby when you want space to edit kits or queue in peace.
Appear Offline is social only. You stay a normal player in the world instead of turning into a floating nametag or disappearing entirely.
Spawn hotbar and party menus were cleaned up so lobby buttons stay consistent whether you are solo or in a party. TAB, friends display, and match cleanup also got a stability pass.
